5 Grocery Products You Should Never Buy Generic

© x86x86
These days, going generic is the cheap option. While there are stuff for your household that can be bought generic, there are just stuff that can't pass for generic.
Here are a few items that you should go for your favorite brand no matter what:
1. Diapers.
You'll use hundreds of diapers with a baby, and your want to save as much money as you can. But keep in mind that a leaky or messy diaper will leave you and your baby in a foul mood, and a diaper rash is no fun for anyone.
2. Paper products.
Toilet paper and paper towels are two things you don't want to fall apart while using them. Generic brands have less fibers, which means lower absorbency. You'll end up using more of the cheaper towels or toilet paper.
3. Garbage bags.
You shouldn't deal with the mess when they break open. You certainly don't want to have to pick it all up again because you saved a few bucks on generic garbage bags that are thinner and don't hold as much as the name brand is a bigger and messier waste of time.
4. Cheese.
Most generic brands of cheese items taste like cardboard. Kraft makes the best macaroni and cheese and processed cheese slices, and there's no reason to go anywhere else.
5. Spaghetti sauce.
Buying a generic brand is just like pouring ketchup on spaghetti. If you don't have time spend a little more on the name brand pasta sauce. It has a much better taste much better than any generic brand, and for a cheap meal like spaghetti, makes it worth eating.

I will agree with all of them but that last one. Some of the best speghetti sauces I have bought have been the generic. So do not underestimate the generic brands. YOu may not get a large variety like the name brands but there are some good ones out there. Walmart and aldi are just as good as some of the name brand one. These are the one I use when I cannot make my own.

Cheese is about the only thing I agree with. When my kids were babies we bought the Kroger Diapers and they worked better than most name brand. We also use Kroger Brand Garbage bags and we won’t buy anything else. But Generic Cheese…..yuck.

I don’t agree with the diapers. The gel that is used in the brand names is disgusting. It falls out all over the place. My daughter uses generic and they work just fine. Paper towels we always buy generic and garbage bags. WE also buy the store brand cheese and it is good.

Maybe the store where you buy got bad generic products. I used to have a small store that sells generic diapers and detergents. I never had any complaint from customers. As for the spaghetti sauce my wife sticks to a certain brand but my mother can make even the worst spaghetti sauce into a delectable one (that coming from his child
).
