* 1 composition notebook (black/white marbled)
* 6 spiral notebooks (1 red, 1 blue, 1 yellow, 1 green, 2 purple)
* 5 pocket folders with metal fasteners (1 red, 1 blue, 1 yellow, 1 green, 1 purple)
* 1 box of pencils
* 1 pack of notebook paper
* 1 box of tissues
* 1 box colored pencils
* 1 pair scissors
* glue sticks
* Students with last names beginning with A-M: Clorox or Lysol sanitizing wipes (For health reasons these are the only brands that can be accepted.)
* Students with last names beginning with N-Z: Hand sanitizer (any Purell or Germ-X brands
* headphones that can be plugged into the computer
It isn't a bad supply list really.
But it never is that simple is it?
First problem, the classroom had a list of other items they needed for the class itself. Of course Hayley did that herself. I told Jeff to go supervise that but he seemed to tune out because she came back with tags for 'colored cardstock' (fine), 'prize box items' (more vague) and then 'indoor recess items' (WHAT?)
Second, Hayley is a GIRL and they are always oh so picky about things. The increasing variety of cool items means a lot of choices to make for a ten year old with a penchant for pink, blue and cute things.
Third, I like to shop. If I ever went on it, I'd win that show Supermarket Sweep hands down.
So off we'll troop to Office Max, to mingle down the aisles with the other parents clutching classroom supply list.
