Fun for the kids
by Melissa Petri on August 31, 2007

Due to some complaints of harassment from children, Discovery Canyon Campus School banned kids from playing tag. Primarily, since it causes conflicts on the playground. Although two parents complained against the ban, the majority of parents and children did not object to the school's new rule.
Two years ago, 2 schools also banned the game tag and similar games in favor of games with "less physical contact". With the Prohibition of playing tag and similar games on the playground, there had been less squabbles and had encouraged students to play games.
I don't know if I see this as positive or negative. These kids are missing out on one of the most fun games of all time. The school is probably just protecting their students, but then squabbles, crying, shouting and making up is a part of everyone's life. Banning tag would not make the school and the playground safer but rather boring.

Any parent who thinks Tag should be banned from school is a complete and utter moron. Period.
