Beware of Poory Refrigerated Vaccines

Watch out for poorly refrigerated vaccines, parents! After comforting you child after his or her vaccine ordeal, it is possible that that vaccine is a dud. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that "hundreds of thousands of doses of vaccines against such diseases as flu, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, polio, mumps, measles, chicken pox and the cervical cancer virus are thrown out each year because of poor refrigeration at clinics, hospitals and doctors' offices."

A big part of the $20 million set aside for children's vaccination is put to waste every year because of poor refrigeration. Hence, unwittingly exposing our children to dreadful diseases.

Having you child go through that ordeal for the second time is the easy part. I shudder at the thought that my son is running around without protection from these diseases. I wonder if there is a way to check if your child had the real vaccine or just a dud?
