Birth Announcement choices
Filed in archive Shopping by Melissa Petri on August 3, 2005
At 8-months and only a couple of weeks into my maternity leave, I was bored. Everyone in the family treated me like an invalid. My doctor endlessly gave me lectures on eating too much and exercising too little.

So, I did all of them (and myself a favor). I did what I was told and, at the same time, solved my "I-am-so-bored" problem.

With my sister, I walked and walked to several specialty stores to buy myself an art kit and, in the process, turned myself into Martha-Preggers-Stewart! In my mind, nothing could satisfy an excited pregnant lady more than to see a birth announcement card. A self-made one.

However, if it isn't your thing, you still have lots of other options.

TinyPrints, in my opinion, have simple yet elegant designs. Had I decided to have mine made, I would have definitely gone to tinyprints. Their contemporary design is my favorite.

If you prefer to have an online announcement and need a bit of help with the template, you can check out Hoover for their ready-made web templates.

If you have friends and relatives scattered all over the world, it would be a great idea to have your birth announcement printed as postcards.

Different strokes for different folks! :)
