Birthday Parties

Birthday Parties

My sons had a wonderful time celebrating their birthdays this year. Since their birthdays are just 8 days apart (just like my husband and I), we decided to hold their birthdays simultaneously, 3 times.

The first party was exclusively for family and friends. It was fun and my 4 year-old had a blast receiving his gifts. Although my 1 year-old is still to young to actually understand what's happening, he enjoyed playing with his new toy from his cousin.

The second party was held in the Kindergarten. We didn't serve much, just hotdogs and cakes for the small ones. Unfortunately, my 1 year-old didn't get to enjoy his party that much since he had his shots in the morning (poor kid).

The third party was also held at home and exclusively for my son's friends. It was a pirate-themed party attended by 2 boys (3 couldn't make it) and 3 girls (sweet Maedels). A total of 6 kids and 1 toddler, meaning, total chaos! Since we didn't have a garden, they ran through the apartment, up the stairs, then down again, then up, down, left, right. That was 3 whole hours of kids playing, a bit eating and gift giving.

Eventhough our house was a mess after the last kid left. I'm happy that we (hubby and I) decided to hold the 3 parties for the kids. Just seeing the sparkle in my 4 year-old son's eyes (especially when he saw his cake) was enough to take my back pains (after 3 days of non-stop cleaning) away.
