I admit, a lot of times, my son has to eat one of those boring sandwiches that mommy makes. Although, more often than not, I try to give him a kid-friendly feast with just a little of a lot of things.
Different tastes, choices and fun is what I always try to aim for when it comes to what my son's brown bag contains. Of course, not all of them are self-made; some are store-bought.
From time to time, I also spoil my son with that special surprise. I try to prepare (at least once a week) a special treat for him.
And today, I found one of the best recipes online which I plan to prepare for my son next week. It's Adrienne's Twinkie Sushi Rolls - yummmm...
Recipe of Twinkie Sushi Rolls
* 3 Hostess Twinkies
* Assorted dried fruits
* Assorted fruity candies
* 2 green fruit roll ups
* Dried mangoes (looks like pickled ginger)
DIRECTIONS:
Slice Hostess Twinkies into pieces about an inch tall. Slice fruit roll ups in strips to the long enough and wide enough to wrap around the Hostess Twinkie pieces. Wrap the fruit roll ups around the Hostess Twinkie pieces. Place dried fruits and candies into the cream filling. Place Twinkie rolls on a plate or in a bento box. Garnish with strips of dried mango to resemble pickled ginger if you wish! Serve with chopsticks if you wish.
What about YOU? What kind of food do you prepare for your child?
