Finances
by Melissa Petri on June 20, 2006

In my family's case, we keep track of our home finances using an excel sheet. It makes it really easy for us to analyze our spending habits and forecast if we need to tighten our belts for the next couple of months in order to buy a newer, say, washing machine. Should you not be excel/spreadsheet friendly, you can try out Home Finances to help you put things in order. Or, simply just get your pile of receipts, a calculator and write things down longhand.
In addition, we need to be conscious spenders and smart shoppers. Choices, choices, choices.
Sometimes, though, we need to be creative to cut down on expenses. Do check out Thrifty Mommy for great ideas on where you can actually save money. You'd be surprised at the number of ideas listed on this blog.
It pays to choose wisely.
