Buying Toys
Since I became a mother, I have started behaving like a child whenever I find myself inside a toy store. I gush at all the toys which I think my son would enjoy playing with. I'd oooh and ahhh at all the shiny, colorful new toys. And yes, I never leave a store without a bag and a receipt on my hands.

The look in my son's as I present my gift is priceless. He'd oooh and ahhh as much as I did earlier at the toy store. It was worth the money I paid for it, after all.

But then, when I see his face playing with a toilet paper roll, a plastic clothes hanger or a cooking pan, I see exactly the same joy and awe. Whenever this happens, my husband and I always look at each other with smiles in our faces and, "why oh why again do we BUY toys?"

Despite that, my husband and I still do buy toys. Although, we are more careful with the kind of toys that we buy now. We purchase those which our sons will not only enjoy but those which will help in their development, too.

What about YOU? Does your child have the same reaction? Do you still buy toys often?

Should you have the same issues about buying toys, head over to about.com's Toys and let Dipika Mirpuri guide you.
