Changing Diapers

Before I gave birth to my oldest son three years ago, I was concerned about my skills in taking care of a baby. Since I had no nieces nor nephews, I have never really been taught exposed to infos like how to breastfeed, give babies a bath and change diapers, among others.
Since we stayed 10 days at the hospital due to some complications, the nurses had more than enough time to show me (and my husband) how to take care of our baby. Luckily, our son was born big — 9.6 pounds and 21.65 inches — so we were less scared at the thought of handling him.
To date, changing diapers still brings out the children in us (me and my husband). We try to keep it simple by playing stone and paper everytime it is time to change dirty diapers. Yes, that shows how much we actually love doing it *smirks* hehe.
Now, if you are a first-time mom and you are also wary about your diaper changing skills, listen up. Here are great resources for tips on the hows which concerns changing our little bundle of joy's smelly diapers:
- Basics of Diapering Your Baby
- Advice from fellow parents on how to get him (your husband) to share diaper duties with you
- Etiquette on How to Change Diapers in Public

Etiquette article about changing diapers in public was good — but suggesting you change your kid’s diaper on the floor of an airplane bathroom? Has the author ever been on an actual airplane??!!! Please — change your kid on your lap before the bathroom floor — that is so disgusting!

I’m the author of the baby etiquette article and yes, I have changed my kid’s diaper on the airplane floor. But not the airplane bathroom floor. The line actually says, “floor in the bathroom vestibule.” I have found that the carpeted area outside the bathroom is good because of its clear space and its proximity to any flight attendant supplies.
