My first son had a hand-me-down crib hence, last weekend's crib shopping adventure was the first time. I didn't realize until then how daunting it was to choose the right crib.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't be the last time for us to head out and look for a crib. We have scheduled Saturday morning to check our options in another store. Hopefully, this time, we will come home with results.

My husband and I basically check the crib's safety, height & size, the design and the side rail. Hopefully, we will find something to match ALL of our requirements.

The New Parents Guide and Martha Stewart has the basics of how to choose a crib. Those sites basically helped shape our requirements. Safety guidelines over at parents.com was a big help in helping us know what to look for to ensure our baby's safety.
