Cough and Cold Medicines Safety Questioned
Filed in archive Health by Melissa Petri on October 18, 2007

Colds and cough medicines for babies and toddlers were recently pulled out from shelves due to a petition arguing that over-the-counter drugs should not be used on children 5 and younger. The medicines, petitioners says, are not only dangerous but also does not work in children up to age 6.
Makers of Dimetapp, Pediacare, Robitussin and Triamin pulled from sale oral cough and cold medicines for children under 2. Although they are insisting that the medicines works and are safe but "can lead to overdoses when misused in infants."
So moms and dads, you better clear your medicine cabinets from these medicines for your little ones. Atleast until further notice by the FDA.
