Celebrity Moms/Dads

A came across an interesting blog and stumbled upon, who else, but my favorite grunge rocker-slash-activist Eddie Vedder. As a teen in the 90's, I was very much influenced by the grunge scene and Pearl Jam, and until now, I still listen to tracks from Ten, Daughter and Vitalogy. Although they released other albums after the 90's, not much attention was given to it. I eventually lost track of the band's progress and only hear about them when they (specifically Eddie Vedder) appear in the news or performing for a cause (such as the war in Iraq).
Although I was shocked to find out that he's now separated from Beth Liebling, and to my surprise, Eddie is actually a dad! At 42, Eddie Vedder is father to 3 year-old Olivia (from girlfriend Jill McCormick).
Most Pearl Jam songs are autobiographical. It mostly dealt about Eddie's troubled childhood.
As for his style of parenting, he said "I'm trying to break any chain of negative parenting that I might have survived." Perhaps Olivia will sing happier tunes, when she ends up a singer like his dad.

One of the things that was important to me as a parent was exposing my daughter to music. Music has changed a lot since I was young. Pearl Jam was/is one of the bands we agree on. My kid must reel at the fact that I still consume all things Pearl Jam--it still stands as a marked difference between generations; a band that is telling the truth. I'm afraid the legacy of her generation's musicians will be nothing notable.
