Firworks Safety

New Year's Eve is normally celebrated with a bang… literally. Most of us usher in the new year with fireworks. Fireworks originally came from China. It was used to ward off evil spirits (due to the loud sound) and to pray for happiness and prosperity.
It's a great tradition which many of us have adapted. It's festive and it truly is a great way to welcome the new year as we all watch the beautiful display that could lighten up the otherwise dark sky.
However, as we all know, fireworks could also be dangerous. It could cause burns and injuries if not done properly. And when there are kids present, we (adults) should take more care. We should…
- Make sure that young children do not play with it (even if unlit)
- Do not let young children light one up.
- Adults should read instructions before using
- Keep children at a safe distance when lighting it up.
- Keep a pail of water near, just in case an accident happens or a firework malfunctions.
- Light up fireworks far from flammable materials.
Have fun and be safe!!!
