Foster Parenting

When children are abused or neglected, they are taken away — voluntarily or involuntarily — from their families and are placed in foster care. Foster care is only a temporary arrangement. Although, it may happen that foster parents would later adopt the child.
Foster parents help provide these kids a better life and future.
Unfortunately, foster parents do not seem to be getting enough support from child-welfare agencies. Not enough training is given to them — which is especially needed by those who are providing foster care to troubled children. In addition, reimbursements for the kids' needs are not given out on schedule.
As reported by USAToday, the Baxters have had it. They are "forming the nation's first union representing foster parents to gain more clout with state agencies".
There are a lot of children who needs foster care. Not just any care. But the kind given wholeheartedly by people who are also able and trained. And this, can only be achieved if the state is willing to provide foster parents and children the right support and guidance.
