It can be a challenge to find the perfect gift
. IMO, it should be something that obviously shows that you were thinking of the receiver when you were looking for the gift. Even when we choose gifts for the little ones, the same attention should be given.Most young children, on the other hand, are only on the receiving end. Young ones have yet to understand the joy that comes from giving something meaningful to another person. A value that we, parents, should take time to teach them.
Teaching kids the value of giving can be done by helping them make simple gifts for others. This could help give them long-lasting feelings of satisfaction and self-esteem which could prove to be more gratifying than any battery-operated toy... making the holidays less materialistic. Here are a few gift ideas which your kids can make. Or, you can bond with your kids and make something together.
As for receiving gifts, here's an idea from babycenter on how you can teach your child to appreciate the gifts he gets.
As parents, it is vital to teach kids the value of gift and gift-giving, no matter how small, tangible or intangible.
