Harry Potter and Science

Despite many nay sayers, I am actually impressed that J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series got so many kids into reading. For a moment there, reading even became cool.

And now… they, imaginative educators, have even started using Harry Potter to bring science to life.

"When the students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry fly off on broomsticks, most Harry Potter fans think "magic." Charlene Haviland thinks 'aerodynamics.'

Haviland will get her chance this fall, when she teaches an after-school remedial program for eighth-graders that will combine reading with the study of science in the Harry Potter books."

    Hey, harry can be used for all kids of teaching. I belong to a yahoo group called Hogwarts Summer Correspondence School, It’s a home school site that helps parents set up and “invitation” to be in a Correspondence school from hogwarts, fancy invite and all kinds of ideas for almost any subject all in the relm of Hogwarts. Very cool stuff.
