I thought I would introduce myself since I've joined the folks here in the parenting blog. My husband and I have one daughter, who is nine and in the third grade. We live in North Carolina, out in the suburbs on a quiet cul-de-sac packed full of kids. I'm in my mid-30s and work for myself as a web developer/editor/producer - basically a jack of all trades. I work for several sports media networks, managing sites, building communities and tweaking code and graphics.

I chose to leave working longer hours and more money in TV and newspapers web development to work from home and be able to combine the positive aspects of being a work at home mom and a work in the office mom. Women have the right to decide what path they want to take and it is my hope that we can all support each other, instead of criticizing and tearing each other down.

Hopefully I'll bring some new topics to discuss and thoughts to share. I'd love to see this become a thriving community and let me know if I can help make this a better place.
