In the Spotlight
by Melissa Petri on September 23, 2005
We've read the news about thousands fleeing as Hurricane Rita heads for Texas. On the other hand, we've heard from Sarah Gilbert about bloggers: Sarcastic Journalist and CrazyMomCat who aren't evacuating.
After what happened in Louisiana, more people have listened to warnings and advices. Sadly, there really is no way some can get themselves out of the hurricane's way.
I guess we can all safely assume that the people staying put are doing their best to prepare for the onslaught of Rita.
If you have kids and you need a bit of help explaining to them about what is happening (or going to happen), check out FEMA for Kids. The Federal Emergency Maganement Agency have collated some facts and wrote them down in a way that kids would understand.
For now, let's all pray for everyone's safety.
