Introduction

Filed in archive Parenting on June 20, 2005

"I walked like a duck, ate like a tasmanian devil, snored like a pig, farted like a cow and looked very much like an Asian version of the Goodyear blimp. No, I was not wearing a costume nor did I take part in a horror movie. I was 8 months pregnant with my son. I was ugly as hell and extremely uncomfortable but I loved every single minute of the experience."Hi. My name is Melissa Petri and I will be your ersatz blogger here at Parenting Weblog. I wrote the above when my son was just a wee infant, sleeping in his cot most of the time. 2 years has passed and a lot has happened since then. He developed a strange liking for electric cords and has taken to feeding his cars. It has been an adventure which I am more than willing to continue.

Apart from first-hand experiences, I will also blog about newsworthy items which some of you may miss due to your busy schedules. I will write about tips and ideas which might be useful to all of us. I hope that you would alert me of your presence once in a while and share your experiences with me (and maybe, to other readers), as well.

As I lie on our big bed, wide-awake while the whole household sleeps, I also blog over at dotMoms, a weblog that features smart, fun, and focused writing about motherhood from many perspectives.

Anyway, hope to hear from you from time to time.
