We survived the Demi Lovato, Avril Lavigne and Jonas Brothers concert last night!

It actually was a really great time for all of us. Lines weren't too long, the kids were well-behaved and we sat with friends.

I picked up everyone and they were all ready to rock - makeup included. We laughed and chatted all the way to the venue. Thanks to a premier parking pass we parked close by, waited in a quick line and were on the lawn in less than 10-15 minutes.

We'd set up things to meet one group of girls from our neighborhood and settled in right behind them. Within minutes, three other girls from our neighborhood walked right by so we invited them to sit with us too. So we had ten nine and ten year old girls - I think the technical term of that is a 'gaggle'. Finding other mothers was a life saver because we could make bathroom and snack runs without having to pick up everyone or get lost. Plus it meant one to two trips total, instead of five trips each.

Demi Lovato and Avril Lavigne were great but the Jonas Brothers definitely were the highlight of the night. All three sets were great and everyone played all the songs that were hits. The girls danced all evening, screaming and singing at the top of their lungs.

Amazingly after spending seven hours together, there was no bickering, squabbling or excluding. The three groups all mixed in and out.

The only downer of the evening was a bad parking lot and then crews were repaving parts of the MAJOR interstate highway we take home. What should have been fifteen, maybe twenty minutes home took well over an hour because four lanes were merged down into one. We got home at close to 1am, instead of 11:30pm. But none of the parents were too mad and I made sure to tell them how wonderful the kids had been.

It was tiring and I admit, I let my daughter go to school at hour later just to sleep in some. I'm still wiped out from all the walking and dancing but I'm so happy to have made those memories with the kids.
