Keep that Binky Clean

In an attempt to "clean them" after they have fallen to the ground, I have seen many moms put pacifiers into their own mouths before giving it back to their babies.

Others, on the other hand, think that if they retrieve the fallen binky from the ground soon enough (less than a minute!), it wouldn't be too dirty and could go right back into the baby's mouth.

What about YOU? What do you do?

Personally, I have done both solutions listed above. But now that I know "better", I will be taking better care of what my newborn puts into his mouth. So, I searched and searched. Here are some of the items I am now considering to help KEEP THAT BINKY CLEAN:

Keep that Binky Clean

As seen on CoolMomPicks, the pacifier and wipe cloth by Koeka can help keep that pacifier clean even if it has been accidentally tossed to the ground. The tactile cloth would keep it clean. And if it does make contact on the ground, you can always use the cloth to wipe the pacifier clean.

And then, there's the Munchkin Pacifier Clean and Go. It's simply a container with 2 compartments. One is for keeping fresh clean water to use for rinsing and the other is used for storing an extra pacifier.

Keep-It Clean Pacifier would most likely be my choice. It's the only pacifier that instantly closes when it drops so the nipple stays clean.

What do you think?!

Regarding the binky, my friend emailed me a link to a site that has a publication on losing the binky (it is all free, makes money by advertisements). She absolutly raved about the cut method and the psychology behind it. Very cool stuff, worked like a charm for me as well, wouldn’t do it any other way. The link is http://www.bye-bye-binky.com for anyone who is interrested. If you do, let me know your thoughts….Bella

    Hey Bella,

As per your post, I checked out http://www.bye-bye-binky.com (not only was it free, but they didn’t even ask for my email, thank goodness). We followed the steps and three days later she was done. She even threw her daycare paci in the garbage and proceeded to take the best nap ever! She doesn’t even ask for it anymore! My family is still shocked at how easy and painless for my daughter this process has been! Thanks for sharing… Jill
