Keep Your Kids Healthy this Fall

Keep Your Kids Healthy this Fall

October is Children's Health Month. It's the perfect time to focus on the importace of providing a safe environment for our children.

Whether they are at home, in school or at at the playground, we need to make sure that we take preventive measures to avoid accidents and/or illnesses. We should all strive — not just in October — to have a safer, healthier homes for our children.

For starters, check out CDC. They have tips for parents and activity sheets for kids to teach them how to stay safe and healthy in the fall and all year long.

EPA is also on it as they celebrate Children's Health Month by Promoting Healthy School Environments.

As for me, I am going to do another round of inspection to update our home's childproofing. A visit to the doctor for immunizations should also be scheduled soon.

What about YOU? What are your plans for October?

Good article and good reminder about keeping kids AND parents healthy this fall. One thing not mentioned, that I think is important (as it just happened to my niece) is head lice. There is a new article about the “lousebuster” on http://www.childnparent.com that is worthwhile if you children have the “little bug”.
