Kids and the mothers that raise them

I always hear everyone commenting on how to be a good parent. Society thinks that to be a good parent you should almost be perfect. Anywhere from being a good cook to being a good influence and teaching your kids all about right and wrong.
Truth about it is that no mother can make all the right decisions when it comes to the care of their children. I really think that alot of unnessary pressure is put on the average person to be like the parents on Leave it to Beaver and The Cosbys. In reality alot of us are families like Roseanne because that is real life. I myself can't seem to find the time to vaccuum my house with a dress on and pearls like Mrs. Cleaver did and I can't seem to have a career but always be home to spend time with my family like Mrs. Cosby.
The only thing I can manage to do is love my kids. Isn't that really what being a parent is about? If you have kids and you truly love them all the rest falls in place. There hasn't been mornings that I haven't got up and sighed because my girls are making a mess, fighting or just plain grumpy and need more affection that day.
Life happens to everyone and if you say that you never get mad, say things you don't mean, or even just question what you were thinking sometimes having kids then you aren't real. I am human and I am proud to be able to make mistakes and bounce back. Don't worry what everyone says about being a parent most the time those who give advice have no kids of their own.
Love your kids that is the best advice you can get and know that even on the worst days your kids love you too. That is the reason I can get through my days and smile about tomorrow. So whether you're a struggling single mom, a mom and a dad happy together, a gay couple trying to raise a child, whoever you are, you are a parent. That will always count for something in your child's eyes.
