Lack of Sleep
"I would grow breasts if I could," my husband says everytime he sees me drag myself up at an ungodly hour to feed our newborn son. He has been feeling sorry for me as I have been going on my life as a second time parent with only 2-3 hours of sleep at a time.

My newborn wakes up for feeding every two to three hours. From time to time, I am spared the 5am feeding. That is, if I was able to pump breastmilk so that my husband could take over feeding our newborn son. But, more often than not, I would be too busy doing something else or, I would be catching up on sleep while my baby is asleep hence, the lack of daily pumped milk.

Of course, it would also be easier if all I need to do during my baby's awake hours is to breastfeed him. As most of you know, that isn't the case. Burping and diaper changing follows immediately after for newborns.

Thank God that night-time activities does not last forever. I cannot wait until my baby can sleep longer so that I can finally say again that I have had a night's sleep.
