Looking for Puppies for Sale?
I wonder how many letters to Santa this year ask for a pet dog. There is a certain age when, instead of the latest Ben 10 toy or Barbie doll, kids ask for pets. They will proclaim that they are old enough to take care of a puppy, and will take full responsibility for the pet. Often though, very young kids do not really have a full grasp of what it takes to take care of a pet. It's not just about cuddling, playing, walking and feeding them. There's also the messier issues of "toilet training", vaccinations, bathing, etc.
If you think your child can handle it, and/or you are willing to share the responsibility, the next step is to decide what dog you'd like to have. Big or small? Furry or not? Cute or robust-looking? Get your kids involved. You can schedule a trip to the pet shop, or browse online directories of puppies for sale. Even if you don't end up buying online, it's a great way to connect with your child and discuss options.

The best place to research puppies and breeders is the kennel club web site. Lots of info about breeds and how to choose the right dog for you and the right breeder. In general not a good idea to buy from a pet shop as you can not see the pups parents etc.
