Losing Weight after Childbirth
[source: ohnothydidn't]
Forgive me for posting yet another (although, only the 4th in 7 months) celebrity-related news. I have found myself secretly perusing gossip news during my free time (aka the toddler is sleeping) and thought I'd share.
Anyway…
Amerie posted pictures of Jennifer Garner on the ohnotheydidn't community under livejournal. Nothing wrong with that. Just that one comment was a bit off. Someone wrote, "they should not look they just had a baby. loose the fat garner/affleck…"
Obviously, this was posted by someone who does not know how unnatural it is to give birth and be all skinny and fit a month after doing so. Unless, of course, the new mom spends more time with a personal trainer than with the baby.
I'd say that Ms. Garner is doing fine. And more people should give new moms a break.
In any case, should you be giving birth soon, listen up. When you leave the hospital, there is a big likelihood that you'd still be a little bit on the heavy side. That IS normal. Do not, under any circumstance, let others tell you how someone else immediately lost all the extra weight.
Normally, it does take some time. Concentrate on being a mom. And, while you are at it, slowly pace yourself on how you can lose weight.

That’s true. It’s inevitable. I’ve been thinking to lose weight but then again how could you do that when you are so excited to take care of your new born baby? Not eveyone realize this essence.

I weighed 130 and 5’5 before my baby. So I would consider myself thin. I gained 48lbs while I was pregnant and I didn’t worry to much about losing the weight. I just went back to exercising regularly and cut out the junk food and cake I was eating everyday. 9mths later I’m back to the same weight. Takes 9mths to put it on give yourself 9mths to get it off!

Chescka and NancyL: I agree with you both!
Some people should realize that new moms need support instead of criticisms or insensitive comments. Everything at it’s time. Everyone with their own pace.
