Due to the ongoing investigation regarding toys manufactured in China, Mattel, Inc. announced yesterday 11 toys to be recalled globally under the Barbie and Fisher-Price brands due to impermissible levels of lead.

In total, there are 848,000 toys affected globally. Items under the Barbie brand were produced by the Holder Plastic Company and sub-contracted to Dong Lian Fa and Yip Sing (both sub-contractors are no longer producing toys for Mattel). While items from the Fisher-Price brand were manufactured by Apex Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Shun On Factory and sub-contracted to Boyi Plastic Products Factory and Jingying Tampo Printing Processing Factory.
Mattel is recalling the entire production of the toys listed under the Barbie brand which were sold at retail between November 2006 and August 2007.

List of affected parts under the Barbie brand include:

* Dream Puppy House™- orange on miniature dog
* Dream Kitty Condo™- brown on miniature cat
* Table & Chairs Kitchen Playset - yellow food on two dinner plates, brown on miniature dog, yellow and orange on potato chip bowl, orange on salad bowl
* Bathtub & Toilet Playset - brown on miniature cat
* Desk & Chair Bedroom Playset - brown on miniature dog
* Living Room Playset (deluxe) - brown on miniature cat
* Living Room Playset (premium) - yellow flower on purse

List of affected parts under the Fisher-Price brand include:

* GEOTRAX™ Rail & Road System Freightway Transport™- yellow headlights on train car and miniature ladder
* GEOTRAX™ Special Track Pack™ - yellow headlights on train car and miniature ladder
* "It's a Big Big World" 6-in-1 Bongo Band - painted decal on top of clear plastic on drum
