Mom and child are sick

I've had a flu shot last December. Apparently, the protection it offers is limited and it does not include being safe from catching the flu from my child this February. So, for the past 2 weeks, we (mother and child) spent it together, sick at home.

And during the time that we were home, house chores were forgotten. And the time spent together — which is normally spent apart with me at work and him in the kindergarten — was time spent healing and bonding.

While recovering, we had a great time doing things together. It was fun to watch Blue's Clues with someone who suddenly shouts "a clue, a clue" or "pawprint" way before my eyes could even spot the difference amidst all the colors. I had a great time cooking and eating for/with a toddler whose taste buds do not seem to mind the conflicting tastes and combination her pregnant mom chooses. It has been great for me and my soul to take a 2-3 hour afternoon nap with someone who do not complain even as I accidentally drooled on his head.

It has been fun to be sick for 2 weeks. I took care and got taken cared of by my 2 1/2 year old son.
