My Pregnancy Hall of Shame
Everyone passes out gas. Unfortunately, for pregnant women, we pass gas even more due to (1) the increase of progesterone which relaxes muscle tissue during early pregnancy, or, (2) the uterus crowding the stomach which slows down the digestive process.

yadda, yadda, yadda

The above explanation, however, does not make me feel any better about the odds of passing gas in public places. Sometimes, I just can't tell when it will happen. There is no sign. By the time I realized it, everyone else already did! Like last weekend at the mall... It had to happen just as we were passing a long line of people waiting for their turn to pay at the counter. Self-preservation made me immediately turn to my 3 year old son as if to admonish him for daring to fart in public. I guess, I was so good at it that even my husband believed it. Poor child.

Anyway, I am being careful with where I go now. If my son is not near me, I prefer to walk where there will be a big space between me and the next person, where escape is easy.

What about you? What is in your pregnancy hall of shame?
