November is National Adoption Month. It is the time to bring about awareness of the existence of thousands of children waiting to be adopted in foster homes.

This year, National Adoption Day was celebrated last Saturday, 19th of November. To celebrate this special day, courthouses throughout the nation have participated by simulataneously finalizing hundreds of adoptions.

Are you thinking of adopting a child? If you are, do think long and hard first. It's way more than being able to provide financial support. You need to reflect and find out if you can honestly love and raise someone else's biological child as your own because, just like all the other kids, children who are in foster care need the nurturing and support that a permanent family can provide.

Family units are much more diverse now. And there are more and more kids who needs the love and help of those who could. Let's spread awareness even after the National Adoption Month.
