On Breastfeeding in Public and Leaking Breasts

Filed in archive Health on October 9, 2006

Many are impressed (or horrified, depends on who is judging) of the fact that I have no problems to breastfeed my son in public. As soon as he cries for food and the letdown reflex kicks in, I'd be in a corner somewhere, pulling my shirt up to feed my son.

From time to time, I get admonishing stares but I just ignore them. My baby is hungry, what can I do?!

One thing bothered me, though. I may not be embarassed about breastfeeding in public but I did have problems that no matter which kind of shirt I used, eyes would immediately revert to this strangely shaped bump on my chest. Those d*mn breastpads looked ugly! It's like wearing nice pants ruined by panty lines. I've tried all the brands available and they all looked the same when I looked in the mirror.

A problem which, thank God, got solved last Friday.

A couple of weeks ago, during my searches, I found a different kind of product for leaking breasts. I saw Lily Padz, the alternative to traditional nursing pads.

They finally arrived last Friday and they are just beautiful. No more ugly breast pad lines on my shirt! Putting them on takes getting used to but, hey, you'll learn it in no time at all.

If you are breastfeeding and have leaking breast problems, you should get lily Padz. I highly recommend it!
