As advised by Dianne Sonntag of Babyzone, it would be most prudent for parents with special needs child to do the following:
Don't Block Your Feelings.
Know that You are Not Alone.
Don't Play the Blame Game.
Arm Yourself with Information.
Be Your Child's Best Advocate.
Be Diligent about Your Child's Treatment.
When You've Done All You Can, Relax.
Take Care of Yourself and Your Other Relationships.
Try a New Perspective.

The Federation for Children with Special Needs is a center for parents and parent organizations. It was "organized in 1975 as a coalition of parent groups representing children with a variety of disabilities, the Federation operates a Parent Center in Massachusetts which offers a variety of services to parents, parent groups, and others who are concerned with children with special needs".
Ability Online is a free internet community for children with special needs.
