Parenting Involves Sacrifice

Sacrifice comes in all shapes and sizes. It's difficult but it is worth our effort in order to ensure that our children grown up feeling loved and become good adults.
I love my kids so much but, to be honest, I do miss a lot of little things which I (and my husband) have gone without as we have adjusted our life (of course!) to fit our bigger family. I miss...
Using my iPOD. My sometimes anti-social self loves keeping people away while in public by blasting loud music in my ears. Something which I definitely have not been doing since I am with my 4-month old baby 24/7.
Being spontaneous. My husband and I used to decide a lot of things (minor ones, mostly for pleasure and fun) at the last minute. Nowadays, we cannot even make a quick trip to the store without planning and preparing in advance as we have a 3-year old and an infant to think of.
Sleeping while on the plane. I've heard of people complaining about cramped spaces. Well, I always tell them, "imagine having that plus, taking care of a child and not getting the chance to sleep".
A place that can be featured in Better Homes & Gardens. With kids, no matter how often you clean, there will always be a stray toy. And as orderly as you may be able to do things, it will only take a few minutes for a little tornado named Junior to mess it all up again.
There's more but it'll be Christmas soon and I still need to wrap my sons' presents.
What about you? What are the little things you miss?!
