Parenting Know It Alls

Having said that, I am sure you'll understand me when I say that...
I do not feel for parents who think that there is only one way that works... their way. It's like their parenting style is from the bible. It's as if they are the only ones raising good kids.
I avoid parents who compete at everything. If one parent dare mention something that happened to his/her child, this other parent would immediately have something which his/her child did to top that story.
And I also hate those who think their theories are better than everyone else's parenting experience...
Recently, my husband and I met 2 ladies who are both pregnant. Both will be having their first children. Interestingly, both are suddenly experts about everything. Both have given us lectures about how great a certain product is, just because a certain sales person told them so. Of course, it doesn't really count that everyone else's first-hand experiences (there were 4 other couples who bought different brands) were different. Both pregnant ladies have also given us lectures on how kids SHOULD be handled. It was as if what they have read and what they KNOW in theory is better than what my husband and I know from taking care of 2 children and what everyone else have done with their kids.
Oh well...
In general, I do not like know-it-alls. Especially those who operate on theory alone and disregard the fact that everyone else already had real-life experiences.
