I was not prepared this time. This sickness came like a thief in the night. It just robbed me of all my energy. I was left with no choice but to stay in bed and look at the beautiful weather from my window. It seemed to be taunting and tempting me to come out and play.

Home from the kindergarten, my son's "Mama, let's play" gripped my heart. For several days, I had to say no. I do not really know if his young mind understood what papa meant when he explained that I was sick. But, I had no choice. I needed to care for myself in order to be healthy again, be the mom that he wanted again.

Have you been sick lately? How did you explain when your toddler is asking for what you can't give becuase you are too weak? Did you ask for help?

In any case, I am better now. Do excuse the temporary, unexpected hiatus on this blog. I am healthy now. Back to playing with my toddler and back to writing about what I love doing the best - parenting!
