Parenting when sick
It's flu season once again. Time when that little tyke brings home the germs that seem to permeate the kindergarten air. And like what happened last year, it got us even before we could call the doctor and set an appointment for immunization shots.
For the past 2 days, lesson still unlearned, I have been home with my son. Both of us are down with flu. Since my husband couldn't be there during the day, I am forced to reconsider my parenting skills. A cranky, sick toddler being taken care of by a very tired and sick mom.
How did I do? Well, it could be better but I thought I did well.
Everytime I see him doze off, I lie beside him to get my much needed rest, as well. I have successfully matched my schedule to fit his. And as soon as my husband comes home, I punch my card out and get my much-needed rest since daddy is on-duty for the rest of the night.
The Sick Parent's Survival Guide is a must-read for parents who fears being down with flu while on parenting-duty. Check it out and not let yourself be caught unprepared.
