As a first time mom-to-be, I often base my choices of meaningful baby gifts on what I would love to receive and ultimately treasure for my own baby. An important key to giving gifts that are bound to be cherished is personalization.

This can be done in many ways, such as embroidering the baby's name and date of birth on quilts, blankets, pillows and clothing, or engraving similar words on toys, frames and other ornamental gifts. Although the baby will not be using some gifts (such as engraved spoons, frames, piggy banks etc.) any time soon, they still make memorable keepsakes. Just make sure you personalize it and your gift will be treasured for years to come.
