Planting Wildflower Seeds Is Fun Activity For Young Kids
It's summer vacation and my mother has decided to weed our rather forest-y backyard. My 7-year old son decided he wants to help. So I allowed him to. I reckoned, since he's out of school, it will be a fun activity for him to weed the backyard. Later on, we will plant wildflower seeds.
Instead of just playing and watching tv the whole summer, weeding and planting is one beneficial thing that kids on school vacation can get busy about. Weeding, gardening, planting and growing plants are not just fun activities outdoors, I think it's therapeutic as well. Doing something with your bare hands such as planting and actually taking care of the plants to let them grow, are good for our physical and emotional health. Letting kids participate will train them to be responsible individuals who are able to take care and grow living things such as plants.
