Reading for Kids

You know what I like about JK Rowling? Through Harry Potter, she was able to entice a lot of kids to take up reading. Suddenly, reading became cool. Whatever the critics may have said about JK Rowling's obra maestra, I still credit her for influencing a lot of kids' reading habits.

Reading is an important skill that needs to be encouraged and developed. It exposes kids to new words and enhances their ability to understand and express themselves.

Check out Children Today to find out more why reading is important to your child. Should your child miss that Harry Potter mania and need a bit more convincing to start reading, get some tips from Robert Morgan's take on Creative ways to encourage students to read; Suite 101's Parents' Guide to Reading For Kids should also be full of information vital in helping your child develop the love for books.

Reading will do your child a lot of good. Encourage it.
