Resolutions for the New Year

Some of us prepare a list even before we welcome the new year. This list contains some of our goals — be it simple or something big. The start of a new year gives a few the incentive to reform and/or work on making some of their wishes come true.

Should your child want to start a resolution, guide him/her not only in preparing the list but also in making at least some of their aims come true.

No list yet? Print out American Academy of Pediatrics' list of healthy New Year's Resolutions and peruse it with your child. In additon, give your child a few more ideas and, at the same time, listen to your child's wishes to come up with a personalised list.

According to Time for Kids, 8000 kids voted and the most votes that topped the New Year's resolution list are:

Get better grades: 2,121 votes
Be nicer to my brother/sister: 877 votes
Eat less junk food: 869 votes
Get more sleep: 828 votes
Get more exercise 811 votes

IMHO, those would make a great addition to your own child's list.
