Rights of a Pregnant Woman
Since this is my second child, I have no fears about what would happen to me, professionally and financially. Not only because I know that I have a husband who will always be there to support me but also because I know my rights as an individual… as an employee.
I know when I am obliged to tell the company about my pregnancy. I know what I should NOT do while at work. I know when I am allowed to take a break. I know that I can take time off for antenatal appointments. I know that I cannot be dismissed. I know my financial benefits. I know about parental leave.
Believe me, there are lots more that I know and other women know. You should know your rights, as well!
Check out the official page of the US department of labor for the Newborns' & Mothers' Protections Act. Afraid of discrimination at work due to your pregnancy? Check out Lect Law for some interesting facts which could make a whole lot of difference for those who are unlucky with their employers.
