A great tip which most of us probably didn't even think about. I know, I never did. And well, I think a lot of moms out there would be interested to know about this intro on money-saving.Now that I'm the "at home" person, running the household, I started looking at our grocery bills and found a quick way to add about 500$/year net to your piggybank while feeding your family.
I started shopping more agressively for the 3 following items:
- Breakfast cereals: we go through about 3 boxes per week, and if you get the ones with 2$off, you have about 300$/year. And I'm not talking about the ultra-sweet with marshamllows and color type cereals, I'm thinking of Cherrios, Raisin bran and such (yes, my kids eat the not too sweet stuff like Shreddies!)
- Yogurt: same here, save 2$/week on a 16-pack, there is 100$/year right there.
- Cheese: get it when it's 2$ off and you just saved about another 100$/year.
Woah there, we just found about 500$/year net. Hmmmm - home economics is getting interesting!
