The "wash and wear" style lets me avoid worrying about keeping my hair in place whenever I find myself with lots of things to do. "Things to do" which seem neverending especially if you count a toddler and an infant as daily companions.
Whenever I see moms whose faces and hairs are all made-up while walking with their baby strollers, I always want to approach them and ask, "Where oh where do you find the time to do all that"?
Sure, I sometimes do get the luxury of having an hour of free time but I would rather put my feet up and watch some silly show rather than worry over my hair and my face.
Not that I have completely let myself go, mind you. I do not go around looking like a frumpy, tired mother. Instead, I let my friseur worry about how I look once every 5 weeks. She gives me a trendy yet short hair cut that needs no extra care. And since I passed on that little "responsibility", I can now enjoy an hour of watching a mindless tv show while I put my feet up.
What about YOU? What kind of hair do you sport? How do you do it?

I'm a recent short hair convert and I love it! I don't think I ever really had good long hair (know what I mean?) So for it to look nice I had to spend time I normally didn't have. Then one day I said I'm done. Went to a good salon and said have your way. She cut it really short and funky added some cool highlights and I'm now a wash and wear girl :) It's the way to go!

I think it's the same logic, different solutions. I can brush my hair and just leave it loose or take a few seconds to put it into a bun. No hair spray, curling irons and all that stuff.
Oh, and no makeup either. That one has never been a habit for me, so my husband is used to it. My 4 year old is determined to keep her hair long too. My son is 22 months and I can't imagine having the time to do more on a regular basis.
