You're lucky if your baby is not colicky. All parents go through the same experience, when our little princes and princesses just wouldn't stop crying. Despite endless feeding, cuddling, and countless tricks, he/she just continues to scream. Poor baby is probably having a tummy ache that would probably last between 2-3 hours.

With both my sons, I used to turn on either the hair dryer or the vacuum, or put them on top of the washing machine, or shush continuously on their ears to lull them to sleep. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

The Shush baby CD, "The european mother care secret comes to North America", is another trick that might put your restless babies to sleep. The CD consists of 3, 20 minute variations of rhythmic shushing that calms the baby by drawing it back to the comfort of the womb. The sounds are " meant to simulate the sound of blood rushing through the mothers cardiovascular system which the baby grows accustomed to hearing while spending nine months inside the mother's body."

I've never tried this CD, but incase you are at your wits end every time your child goes into his crying spell, then try out the CD. It might just keep you from breaking down :-P
