Sprout’s Answer on the Melanie Martinez Appeal

Sprout's Answer on the Melanie Martinez Appeal

Many have done what they can to try to bring Melanie Martinez back on The Good night Show. E-mails have been sent, calls have been made and the petitions have been signed. To date, a lot still have yet to give up on the idea of PBS Kids Sprout network changing their decision.

Petition Spot has, as of 1:18 pm AST, 5526 signatures.

I have also sent an email to Sprout and, just like those of you who did, I received this generic sounding email:

"Please rest assured that we have read your email and appreciate you taking the time and effort to share your concerns with us. We understand that you are disappointed with the recent changes to The Good Night Show, and we too are saddened that we had to make this difficult decision. While we recognize that change is difficult for young children, we are committed to finding a new host for The Good Night Show who will build a strong and sustainable connection to our Sprout children and families."

Not wanting to be a party-pooper but, it sure looks a lot like PBS is standing their ground.

You fired Melanie for an a 30 second video, however, you continue to retain George Carlin who is synonymous with the “Seven Dirty Words”. What type of standard is beign used here?

support this petition, George Carlin and Alex Baldwin don’t exactly have a spotless past and I still hear them on Sprout. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always been a fan of both of them, but firing Melanie for being in a couple of video spoofs that were clearing a joke, especially considering they occured way before the tonight show is just plain unfair…PBS can forget about my $365 annual contribution for this behavior. My kids, and my whole family misses you Melanie! Best of Luck. If you run on hard times, you can have my $365 contribution, just create a donation site.

It’s so sad to see people’s past coming back to haunt them, specially when it’s something this harmless
