Swelling during Pregnancy
Not only do we, pregnant women, have to deal with that extra weight and the big tummy, we also have to experience swelling that develops in other parts of our body, as well.

Yes, they say that swelling of the hands, legs, ankles, feet and (even!) face is normal. But, the fact that it is normal does not make it any easier to cope with how inconvenient it is. A quick look in the mirror would even make the feeling worse.

Is it obvious that I am on that self-pity stage when all pregnant woes (no matter how common) just seem to be getting worse?

My Ob-Gyn has advised me to drink a lot of water, change positions frequently (which is a challenge for office workers who are pregnant), sit with the feet elevated and to NOT to sleep on my back.

Have YOU been doing the same?

Should you want more detailed information, Baby Center has the lowdown on Swollen Extremities during Pregnancy.

As normal as swelling may be, we should still watch out if we do suffer from excessive swelling. It might *knock on wood* be a sign of preeclampsia. If you have any doubts, check with your doctor.
