The Business of Being Born by Ricki Lake

Produced by actress and talk-show host Ricki Lake, The Business of Being Born explores America's child birthing industry. The film also features couples who have decided to give birth on their own terms and a New York midwife who combines ancient tradition and modern tools in her practice.

According to Lake, "I wanted to make this movie after my two very different birth experiences with my children. I felt like I had an opportunity to explore and question birthing practices in this country and perhaps be an advocate for mothers' rights and better maternity care."

The Business of Being Born should be interesting for those who are scheduled to give birth soon, especially those in the USA. Knowing what your options are is always good.
