Terrible twos… tantrums… hyperactive child… the problem child… these are just some of the most common terms used in reference to children whose behaviour bothers parents and/or onlookers.
Some aren't real problems. In most cases, they're just kids behaving like kids. However, there are those whose kids really do have problems. A child who experiences emotional flooding, poor impulse control, and other emotional and behavioral problems is a cause for concern.
Check out Parenthood.com. The site discusses some interesting points about raising a difficult child.
Transforming the Difficult Child is a book worth reading for parents who need to know what else they can do. This book has detailed description of "behavior program and approach to parenting intense children, that focuses on intense forms of positive reinforcement, while making limit-setting and consequences for poor behavior into a much less intense, and therefore boring experience for the child."
Parenting is a challenge on it's own. Parenting a difficult child requires even more. Keep your cool, be patient, loving and arm yourself with information to help you and your child overcome this difficult phase.

so what would you call a child not passing the sobbing part of crying, but rather screams angrily and turns red just to get what he likes? (never had that with the first 2)—and can you define emotional flooding more? thanks.
