The Flu

My husband and I have been taking turns caring for both our sons. Our 4 year-old has been sick since late last week and our 1 year-old was sent home yesterday for having a 38° fever. Both have been crying and subdued the past 3 days. Unfortunately, they both got sick before we even got our flu shots that was scheduled next week.
Every year, we make it a point to get flu shots, since the risk of getting the virus during winter is very high. If my son JP gets it from his daycare, then that means my husband and I will get it as well, just like what happened on my son's first year in his day care. Although getting a vaccine is not really a 100% guarantee that you'll be flu-free (just like what happened to my husband last year).
Although we have been taking measures to avoid the getting sick by washing our hands as often as possible, it's still quite impossible to avoid getting the flu, since you cannot control the environment in the daycare, where they spend the whole day.
I wonder if we could still get the vaccine next week?
