The Sippy Cup Incident
Filed in archive Kids and Travel by Melissa Petri on June 19, 2007
airport security shows a confrontation between a mother with a toddler and airport security officials.

The video shows a mother walking with her toddler when she was approached by an airport official. She then (it looked like) spilled the liquid on the floor. This led to the confrontation between the two, and then more officers were called to the scene. She was then shown wiping the floor.

The confrontation was long enough for the woman and her toddler to miss their flight.

The mother looked like she spilled the contents of the sippy cup intentionally, unfortunately the exchange of words between the airport official and the mother could not be heard.

Airport restrictions can get very strenuous especially when you're traveling with kids. I've traveled several times with my 3 year-old and 10 month-old boys, and it really is a hassle when you have to show the liquids for inspection. To avoid unnecessary hassle and follow airport security standards, I normally bring milk in bottles with the required size (bottles not exceeding 100 milliliters).

Here is the video of the confrontation between the mother with a toddler and the airport officials. You be the judge.
